Colman Domingo’s first major TV role
Plot
Media expert Muncie Daniels must fight for his innocence and his life after he stumbles upon a murder deep in the Poconos. That promise?
The sustained suspense that the trailer led us to believe we were getting
No. There are interesting bits, but the editing is choppy and often gives us scenes that don’t really flow from one to the next.
There are also some strange directorial decisions, or maybe they’re driven by an agenda
But two cops confronted by a bleeding, disheveled man who claims to have found a murder victim should definitely act surprised, concerned, worried, or suspicious. Instead, we get a couple of local cops who half-heartedly entertain the witness and do the investigation.
A terrible start to this B-movie
The opening scene, which is meant to give us the main character’s story (while working as a TV news anchor on the air), is not well done and devolves into another scene that shows a personal side of the main character that doesn’t match what we’ve seen before. The supporting cast doesn’t do enough to elevate the story or the lead actor, who has his own weaknesses to answer for.
On top of these limiting factors, stretch this thing out to 8 episodes and you’ll be tired, bored, and ticked off by the time you get to the end
Not recommended.
