Featured in Korman Productions Deep Dive TV Podcast: Earth Abides on MGM+ Deep Dive Episode 1 "Alone" with Dave and Stacy (2024). Normally the first episode would be a decent episode, but not here, which is especially bad considering it’s about a global pandemic that seems to be ending civilization. It’s only been three weeks, according to what’s been said, but it feels like months or even a year with the way everyone talks and acts.
Well, that didn’t last long
It starts off by introducing him as some kind of grounded dude who likes to live alone and live off the grid. Given the cover image, what are the odds that when he meets her, she’ll be a strong, independent woman who doesn’t need a man, but he can walk around like a lost puppy. I really can’t see where the fun is going to come from if there’s almost no one left and there’s no infected threat like 28 Days Later.
I won’t be watching to find out!
This episode was just the survivors whining about being alive. Maybe there’ll be some textbook slaves (probably Christians made to look bad) who want to start a new world order and they have to escape them? "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
