When Boyd climbs out of the well, Martin is the only one in the room and he is chained to the wall.

But by season 3, you get the feeling that they are dragging it out for no particular motive.Season 3 was basically 8 hours of boring drama and 10 minutes of new plot elements.
The new elements aren’t even interesting
They’re just there to extend the line of unanswered plot threads. To make matters worse, the dialogue seems to have been reduced to mere vowels. It’s just there to fill time while the show searches for a premise. The show suffers from the same problem as Walking Dead: it repeats and recycles the same storylines until they become completely ineffective.
The scary monsters no longer add tension, but instead seem like a sideshow that has been abandoned since the circus left town
Now that the main characters have become accustomed to their surroundings, they roam freely and even interact with the “ghouls” on a regular basis.
