For legal reasons they had to award Dean Hargrove “based on the Matlock series”; credit… For Matlock to be hired by a New York law firm, they would have to verify the status of her law license through one of three official mechanisms, each carefully managed by the state.
Remake of Matlock (1986)
This new series has a lot of potential with a long primary story. Kathy Bates’ character is looking for the lawyer who contributed to her daughter’s death.
The cast works well with two younger associate attorneys trying to make it in a prestigious law firm
The head of the law firm is the father-in-law of one of the firm and the father of another member, this couple is in the process of divorcing and she has quietly started seeing someone else in the firm.Bate’s character says right at the beginning how she comes up with so much information to help case, simply that most people don’t notice older women, so all he has to do is stand in the right place, then just sit back and listen. She is also a great actress in that she can get people to open up with a combination of psychology and empathy, even co-workers.
